Mitsuru ISHIKAWA signed Japanese "mi" (み) standing for "Mitsuru" on the bottom of each piece he lacquered.
The ISHIKAWA family is the 5th generation of crafstmen. The special features of Odawara Lacquerware are the craftsmanship of the turnery and the way in which the lacquer brings out the natural beauty of the wood’s grain.
