London, England, UK, May 31 2018 - Demolition and construction work undergoinga at Aylesbury Estate, a housing estate in Walworth, South East London. Water leaks have already appeared in some of the new buildings (rear left) build in 2015.
Aylesbury Estate, once the largest estate in Europe, is currently undergoing a major regeneration programme by demolishing and replacing of the dwellings with modern houses controlled by a housing association. Some residents and activists still protest against the demolition and the gentrification of London.
London is facing a major housing crisis, due to rising cost and under-supply.
