Portrait of Aubervilliers

Aubervilliers, France, May 2019 - From the series "Portrait of Aubervilliers"
Located in the Seine-Saint-Denis department, next to Paris, Aubervilliers is one of the poorest town in France, with 42% of its inhabitants living under the poverty line ( 60% of the median of standards of living / INSEE).
The town started a mutation a few years ago, with the middle-class moving from Paris to the suburbs due to the high rents in French capital and the establishment of « Grand Paris » (Greater Paris).
These photographs, all considered by the photographer as portraits, aim to give a glimpse of the architectural diversity in the town, consequence of its recent development. A parallel is made with the ethnic diversity of its inhabitants.
