Tomioka Silk Mill
Tomioka city, Gunma prefecture, March 12 2015 - Tomioka Silk Mill is Japan's oldest modern model silk reeling factory, established in 1872 by the government to introduce modern machine silk reeling from France and spread its technology in Japan. The mill was constructed under the supervision of French Engineer Paul Brunat.
In the silk-reeeling plant, with third generation machines used by Katakura after 1965.
