Tokyo, January 29 2014 - The Tsubame KFC is located inside a small building, containing the computers and the oil/water cooling system.

On the Ookayama campus of the Tokyo Institute of Technology (titech), researchers designed a prototype supercomputer which is submerged in a tank of mineral oil. The computer, called Tsubame KFC, is 50 percent more powerful than an older supercomputer at the institute, but uses the same amount of energy. Copyright : Jeremie Souteyrat for the New York Times.
