The Belarus Free Theater have long been seen as one of the world’s most vital theater companies, performing plays illegally in Belarus while raising awareness of the plight of the country around the world. But in 2021, the entire troupe had to flee their homeland as Belarus’s dictatorship clamped down on opposition figures.
